The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) is seeking comments from beauty leaders and business owners on Senate Bill S.2141, the Sunscreen Innovation Act.  Comments submitted will provide the Committee with a boarder understanding on the impact of the current FDA sunscreen approval process.

The legislation, introduced earlier this year would provide a responsible way to alleviate the current 12 year backlog of sunscreen ingredients by streamlining the FDA’s review process. Your can read more about the bill in my earlier posts – H.R. 4250, the “Sunscreen Innovation Act” Passes Full Committee and L’Oreal Holds Washington Briefing on Sunscreen Legislation.

To submit your comments to the Committee, send an email to sunscreen@help.senate.gov. Comments should be submitted by 6pm (est) on August 29th.

This is a great to opportunity advocate on behalf of your business before Members of Congress by communicating your personal experiences as a brand owner on how the current approval process impacts your business and how the passage of the Sunscreen Innovation Act could improve both the FDA process and your business operations.
